Course Information
The unarmed guard card class is an 8 hour online training session. When you complete the class you will have the basic knowledge to qualify for the Arizona unarmed guard card. This class will also satisfy the requirements for a renewal license every 2 years as the new and renewal courses are the same.
This class is for online learning. Our ground unarmed guard card course can be found on the ground course training schedule.
The course consists of several basic topics that will allow students to gain a solid understanding of the functions, roles and responsibilities of security work in Arizona. All course material is approved by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

COURSE INFO & FEES
COURSE INFO
Within the course there are a series of short quizzes to check the knoweldge retention of the student. Each quiz is allowed 2 tries. In total, each quiz must be passed with a score of 70% or better. When the entire course is completed, all quize scores are averaged, and a total of 70% is required to complete the course and pass.
All paperwork will be sent to the student upon completion of the course within 2 business days. This does not include holidays and weekends. The email address used to create an online account with AZSG is where the paperwork will be sent to.
COURSE FEE
The cost of this course is $50 for new and renew.
The course fee does not include any license fees paid to AZ DPS.
As of 2019, the cost of the unarmed guard license is $72. DPS can only accept the following forms of payment, made payable to the Arizona Department of Public Safety: cashier’s check, money order, or check drawn on a business account.
Students will still be required to obtain fingerprints, and photos, on their own and include them in the packet sent to AZ DPS. These items are not included with the course. Information will be provided to the student on where to obtain them.
