Intro to Handguns (ASG-B-100) Details

Learn the basics of handgun safety and techniques through a handgun training class taught by the firearm experts at ASG.

Intro to Handguns (ASG-B-100)

  • For: Qualified Adults 18 and older
  • Cost: $150
  • Duration: 3-5 hours (including range time)

Curriculum

  • The Four Universal Firearm Safety Rules
  • Types of handguns and their components
  • Ammunition types and how to choose them
  • Proper loading and unloading techniques
  • Live-fire drills for grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control

This course includes 2 hours of classroom instruction followed by live-fire practice at the range, with plenty of one-on-one guidance from certified NRA instructors.

Carrying a Handgun in Arizona

In Arizona, you can legally carry a firearm if you:

  • Are 21 or older (for concealed carry; open carry allowed at 18+)
  • Are a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • Are not a prohibited possessor under state or federal law
  • Have not been convicted of a felony
  • Are not currently under indictment or subject to a restraining order
  • Are not a habitual drug user or substance abuser
  • Are mentally competent and have not been determined to be mentally ill
and handgun training class or armed guard training at an indoor shooting range
